The Privacy Rights Clearinghouse (PRC) web site contains many copyrighted documents. The following guidelines apply to the copyrighted material posted on our site:

If you want to link to our web site (www.privacyrights.org) or to any specific pages on our site, feel free to do so. You do not need our permission to link to our site. However, we do not allow you to post any of our web site publications (either in full or in part) on your web site, subject of course to fair use.

We allow some distribution and reprinting of PRC information in paper format by request:

The PRC is glad to let those who want to redistribute the information on our web site (such as a fact sheet, identity theft quiz, privacy alert, privacy compilation, or other publication) as long as the following guidelines are followed:

If you want to use our material for a non-profit or educational purpose, we usually allow you to do so without charge. If you want to use our information as part of a commercial endeavor, we may require a licensing fee. Determinations are made on a case-by-case basis after a request is made at the link specified above.

We require those who have received permission to redistribute PRC information to include the following statement on it if you are distributing it as a handout or in a written publication:
