Your privacy is very important to us. The Privacy Rights Clearinghouse (PRC) respects your concerns about maintaining strict privacy. Any information that you disclose to us is kept in confidence.
When you visit our web site we do not capture personally identifiable information. We do not use "cookies" on our web site. (For an explanation of cookies, see our fact sheet number 18). Our Internet service provider collects information about the date and time when our web site was accessed and, if you linked to our web site from another web site, it records the Internet address of the web site from which you linked to our site. This information is collected to measure the number of visitors to our site and the addresses of the web sites from which our visitors come. The Internet service provider does not record the email address and other personally identifiable information of persons who view our web site.
We record personally identifiable information (name, email address, mailing address, city, state, zip code, and phone number) from those who voluntarily provide it. Our downloadable mail-in donation form asks for this information and your check includes your account information.
If you provide personally identifiable information to us, we keep the information confidential. We will only release your personally identifiable information if you have given explicit consent.
Groundspring.org (Network for Good) collects donations made through our online donation form and transfers them to the PRC. Groundspring.org collects personally identifiable information as well as credit card information to process your donation. Groundspring.org releases your personally identifiable information but not your credit card information to us. Groundspring.org does not release your information to any other entity. Our privacy policy only applies to information collected by Privacy Rights Clearinghouse. If you link to another website from our website, you should read the privacy policy of the new website.
We do not sell, rent, share, or otherwise disclose mailing lists or other personally identifiable information with third parties. We maintain records of individuals who contact us for statistical purposes and for noting our efforts to provide information or assistance. However, we do not provide personally identifiable information to anyone else unless you give us your consent.
On occasion , the media or legislators ask us for names and contact information of individuals who have experienced particular privacy abuses. We do not share such information unless you specifically authorize us to do so.
If you have given consent for us to release your information, whether to a reporter or legislator or otherwise, and later decide you no longer wish to consent, send an email to bethg*at*privacyrights.org, or contact us by phone or mail.
