By creating an account and asking Privacy Rights Clearinghouse (PRC) a privacy question, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not submit a question.
PRC does not provide legal advice or offer a legal referral service. Please note that the individuals answering your question and providing you information are not attorneys. While we do our best to give you relevant and up-to-date information, PRC does not make any guarantee that any information we provide is suitable for any particular purpose. We update our information and add new resources on an ongoing basis. But no resources are complete. We strive for accuracy, but acknowledge that with a fast-changing issue such as privacy, we realistically cannot ensure 100% accuracy. Nor can we ensure the accuracy of any materials from other websites we link to.
If you need legal advice, please seek the services of an attorney. Often you can find assistance through your local bar association, many of which can also provide referrals to low-cost solutions. Neither Privacy Rights Clearinghouse nor any of its employees is your attorney.
PRC does not provide victim assistance. We are unable to provide direct assistance to victims of crimes such as identity theft or stalking. If you are a victim of identity theft, please contact the Identity Theft Resource Center for victim assistance. If you are a stalking or harassment victim, you may find resources for victim assistance in the Office for Victims of Crime's Directory of Crime Victim Services or the National Center for Victims of Crime Victim Connect resource center.
You agree that you will not submit information that identifies another person. This is never helpful to us in the context of answering your question. Do not file a question with PRC using another person's name or contact information unless he or she has given you explicit permission to do so.
Your account will be deleted if:
- you have not posted a question within three days of creating your account, or
- there is no activity on the account for a year.
PRC may change these terms at any time, as is needed in an ever-changing environment. Any changes we make will apply to questions submitted after the terms change. We do not intend for changes to affect our users retroactively. If you have questions about these terms, please contact us.
